What Should You Do When A Tooth Is Knocked Out?

When a tooth is knocked out, it’s essential to get to a dentist as soon as possible. In most cases, there’s a 30-minute window when a tooth can be reimplanted after it’s been forcibly removed. As soon an injury occurs, call Dr. Jacinto’s office and notify them of the situation.

To increase the chance of reimplantation of the tooth, it’s best to put the tooth in cold milk right away. If milk is not available, use saliva or saline. If that’s not possible, place the tooth in a glass of water, as it’s important that the tooth does not dry out. Try to avoid contact with the tooth’s roots.

While it is possible for a tooth to be reimplanted, it needs to be done by a trained dental professional.
